Banned Books Club 2/23/24

Our Stand with Trans Banned Books Club is an exciting, informative and educational way to stay connected with the LGBTQ+ community and create friendships along the way. The books we've chosen were taken from outside banned books lists and most were written by queer and trans authors. We've included a collection of children's books, books geared towards tweens and teens and of course young adult/18+ books as well. We hope to enlighten our readers with various stories broken up by quarterly themes of BIPOC queer and trans folx, intersectionality, relationships and trans voices. We will also impliment a fun and innovative art project for each quarter that encompasses each theme and offers a various forms of artwork! For our Q1 art project, we will ask folks to choose whether they want to draw/design a book cover for the book, highlighting themes & elements that resonated with you from the novel OR create a blackout/found word poem by using words from a section of the text to create a poem responding to the passage.
