Ballroom has long been a space where trans and queer communities, especially Black and Latinx youth, have expressed identity, artistry, and resilience. This session will explore ballroom as a pathway to discovering and celebrating gender expression, offering both history and personal storytelling. Participants will learn how walking, vogueing, and community within ballroom culture provide freedom, confidence, and affirmation. Together, we’ll reflect on how ballroom continues to create safe spaces for self-discovery and empowerment, while honoring its legacy as a movement of love, resistance, and belonging.
